Mormon Beliefs

For the Strength of Youth is a short work that you might own, if you're a member of the Mormon Church. (And if you don't own it, it's easily available!) It contains a number of important guidelines for youth, such as how to treat other people, how to take care of yourself, and how it's appropriate to dress and act. In this section, we talk about a lot of these guidelines and how they apply to you. You'll find that these are pretty helpful even after you're not a teenager any more.

Agency and Accountability - We're all responsible for what we do and think. Isn't it wonderful? No, really, it is. Free will's one of the greatest gifts Heavenly Father has given us.

Gratitude - Everything we have is given to us. We have a sky we never worked for, and a world we were born into. Even the things we get through work and school are provided for us through the grace of God, for all belongs to him. We have so much to be thankful for.

Education - Knowledge is very important, whether it's spiritual knowledge or how to assemble a rocket. If we want to get anywhere in today's world, we do need an education, but, beyond that, it makes us better, more thoughtful people. The glory of God is intelligence.

Family - Sometimes, family can seem like a pain, but you need them and they need you. Family's really the basic unit of society and should remain strong. You should be unified and loving.

Friends - Friends are great, but they can lead you places you don't want to be. Make friends with people who uplift you and help you live the way you should and look out for people who may be lonely.

Dress and Appearance - Dress modestly and neatly. Don't make a point of exposing yourself. You want people to notice more about you than what you look like.
